"The future of the breed begins with honoring its past."

Breeding Standards & Requirements

KlM-GNA strictly adheres to the Breeding Regulations of KlM-Germany. All breeders and stud dog owners must:

  • Be familiar with and follow these regulations

  • Maintain an active KlM-GNA membership

  • Hold a valid hunting license (state or provincial)

Kleine Münsterländer – Group North America (KlM-GNA) is dedicated to preserving the “classic” Kleine Münsterländer: a versatile hunting dog skilled in field, water, and forest environments.

We follow the performance breeding philosophy of our parent club, Verband für Kleine Münsterländer e.V. (KlM-Germany). This approach ensures that all breeding dogs:

  • Meet breed standards at official Breed Shows

  • Pass health screenings

  • Demonstrate natural hunting ability and performance through JGHV tests (German Versatile Hunting Dog Association)

Strengthening North American Breed Stock

As a regional chapter (Landesgruppe) of KlM-Germany, KlM-GNA works to enhance the Kleine Münsterländer population in North America by:

  • Importing puppies, adult dogs, and semen from Germany

  • Gaining exclusive access to valuable genetic resources through our parent club

Pedigrees & Breeding Approval

All KlM-GNA litters receive FCI Pedigrees. For breeding approval, dogs must meet all requirements outlined in the Breeding Regulations.

Any exceptions must be discussed with the KlM-GNA Breed Warden and submitted to the KlM-Germany Breeding Commission for final approval.
