Lönssuche 2024
Chicago IL, USA
In coordination with KlM-GNA’s 10 Year anniversay!
The Lönssuche is a prestigious international breeding and performance test specifically designed for the Kleine Münsterländer (Small Munsterlander) hunting dog breed.
It is organized by the German Association for Small Munsterlanders (Verband für Kleine Münsterländer e.V.), and plays a critical role in shaping the breed's development both in Germany and internationally.
Purpose and Structure
The Lönssuche is an elite international breeding and performance test that combines:
The Association Fall Breeding Test (HZP), including work with live ducks.
An International Breed Show evaluating conformation and temperament.
KlM uses this dual evaluation to identify dogs that meet the highest standards in hunting ability, physical structure, and mental stability—traits essential for responsible breeding.
Recognition
The top-performing dogs in the Lönssuche are awarded the title “Lönssieger”, marking them as exemplary representatives of the breed. This title is not only a performance benchmark but also a key factor in responsible breeding decisions.
Breeding Impact
The Lönssuche serves to help breeders identify dogs that are:
Highly capable in the field
Mentally sound and stable
Physically conforming to breed standards
Suitable for advancing the breed through selective breeding
2024 “Lönssieger”
"Lönssieger" refers to the top-performing dog in the event. It is a prestigious title awarded to the dog that demonstrates exceptional performance across all evaluation categories, including:
Hunting ability: Tracking, pointing, retrieving, and water work.
Temperament and character: Stability, trainability, and cooperation.
Conformation: Physical structure and adherence to breed standards.
The Lönssieger is considered a model representative of the Kleine Münsterländer breed, and often becomes a key contributor to future breeding decisions due to its exemplary traits. This title is highly respected within both the German parent club (KlM-D) and KlM-GNA in North America, and winning it can significantly elevate a dog’s standing in the international breeding community.
